Careers in timber engineering: Dr Stewart Milne

The Stewart Milne Group (SMG) is the UK's largest timber frame housebuilder and were one of the original founders of CTE as a centre of excellence. CTE provides a close integrated link with the whole of the Scottish timber supply chain, from trees to product solutions.

Colleagues of mine assisted in the development of the timber engineering courses at Edinburgh Napier University and we supported students through sponsorship and placements. We have strong research and development links with Edinburgh Napier, developing new engineered wood products and have undertaken knowledge transfer projects to ensure good industry and academic partnerships.
